Regulatory reform order (fire safety) (RRFSO)

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order came into effect on 1 October 2006, and from that date fire safety law in England & Wales changed. The law now:

• emphasises preventing fires and reducing risk
• makes it a building owner's responsibility to ensure the safety of everyone who uses the premises, and in the immediate vicinity
• does away with the need for fire certificates

The responsibility now rests with the building's owners for ensuring fire rated doors meet all the relevant requirements and are properly maintained. All of Lorient's advice throughout this site, and the recommended solutions shown, are designed to ensure all smoke and fire containment requirements are met.
